We can't go from 0 to 100mph without revving the engine a bit first. A warm-up is intended to redirect blood-flow to your running muscles, and ramp up the nervous system to prep you for running fast.
A warm-up goes from general to specific. We start with mobility (done on your own before the run), then go to activation movements, then dynamic drills, before finally getting to the run.
This should only take ~7 minutes. Do this before every run.
If you have any questions please schedule a quick phone call
